The February 2016 issue of Pediatrics includes a special supplement from the AIR-P/ATN titled "Health Care for Children and Youth with Autism and Other Neurodevelopmental Disorders". This is the second supplement in Pediatrics by the AIR-P/ATN, the first was published in 2012. This supplement reports on research carried out by network investigators, including analyses of the AS ATN Registry. The 2016 supplement also highlights the work of other research supported by the U.S. Maternal and Child Health Bureau through its coordinated programs to improve care for children with autism and related conditions. Articles address treating anxiety and irritability and problem behaviors in pediatric primary care, diagnosis of ASD, creating autism-specific care plans in hospitals, evaluation of emergency department care for children with ASD, transition services for youth with ASD, and co-occurring symptoms such as depression and sleep, among other topics.
